L'Amandier, our first cottage renovated and let since the 2000 season,
snuggles in a corner of our garden.
A gated entrance off the rural route from Saint Didier to Saumanes, facing fine views across a vineyard,
leads to a drive alongside the cottage.
It has its own garden of fruit trees flanked by stone walls on the road-side whilst several large fig trees provide privacy within.
The paved terrace shaded by a large cherry tree (blossom in April, cherries towards the end of May) with table and four chairs
is the perfect setting for leisurely meals. Loungers are provided for sun-worshippers.
A cooler arbor beneath an almond tree (l'amandier after which the cottage is named, blossom in February) offers another retreat.
Culinary experts can try their hand at the barbecue for which proper cooking utensils are provided.

Double french windows open from the terrace into a spacious living room. A well-equipped kitchen area occupies
one side with full-sized cooker, fridge, microwave and ample storage space. Utensils and equipment are provided
with serious cooks in mind. Alongside is a dining table with seating for four.
The rest and main part of the living room is a pleasing, comfortably-seated lounge area with a radio/cassette player
and also a retractable TV cum video that can be easily rotated for ease of viewing and a radio/cassette.

The well-proportioned bedroom has a double bed with side tables, dressing table, chest of drawers, and a large wardrobe
with ample space to store suitcases.
The bathroom is adjacent, with vigorous shower, WC, vanity unit, and washing machine.
